EPAT

Do you have a foot injury that has kept you away from the activities you enjoy doing? Here at Albany Podiatry, we are proud to offer non-surgical regenerative medicine to our patients using our very own EPAT machine. When a foot or ankle injury is keeping you on the sidelines, this non-surgical treatment can help your body heal itself quickly and get you back to enjoying your regular activities.

Generally, EPAT, or Extracorporeal Pulse Activation Treatment, is recommended to help treat acute and chronic musculoskeletal pain and/or pain that significantly impairs mobility or quality of life. It is used to help our patients recover from painful muscle, tendon, and ligament injuries. It is especially effective in the treatment of conditions such as plantar fasciitis, tendonitis, sesamoiditis, as well as other chronically injured tissues. Some affected areas include:

  • Plantar Fasciitis
  • Sesamoiditis
  • Neuroma
  • Achilles tendinitis

For optimal results, we recommend treatment with non-invasive, FDA approved EPAT 3-5 weekly treatments. Appointments typically only take 10 minutes, and many patients report feeling immediate relief that continues to improve with continued treatment.

The success rate of EPAT is equal to or greater than that of traditional treatment methods such as surgery but can offer a reduced risk of complications and a shorter recovery time. Most patients can return to work and their normal activities within 24-48 hours following treatment, and many are cleared to return to strenuous activities in as little as 4 weeks.

Some of the benefits of EPAT include that it is non-invasive, there is no anesthesia needed, no risk of infection, no scarring, and no downtime after the treatment. We have experienced over 80% patient satisfaction and most patients experience faster, easier healing than that of other treatments. EPAT is an FDA cleared technology that was originally developed in Europe and is currently used across the globe. It is a safe treatment when performed by a qualified caregiver and offers virtually no risks or side effects.

Here at Albany Podiatry, you can rest assured that your care is in the most qualified, professional hands. For more information about our EPAT services or to schedule a consultation, contact Albany Podiatry today. We’d love to help get you back to the life you enjoy and deserve!
